- Expert Seminar on Conferencing.
- From the General Invitation from the European Forum for Restorative Justice: Within the EU funded ‘conferencing project’, the European Forum for Restorative Justice and its partners are organising an expert meeting on the topic. The project consists of an exploratory study of conferencing practices, for both adult and young offenders and for both more and less serious crimes, as well as their further applicability within Europe.
- ANZSOC 2010
- The 23rd conference of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology (ANZSOC) will take place from 28 to 30 September 2010.
- “Breaking Down the Barriers to get Prison Numbers Down - Alternatives That Work”.
- In October, Prison Fellowship New Zealand and several partner organisations will host a four-day conference exploring alternatives for lowering the prison population.
- Restorative Practices Across Disciplines
- Restorative Practices Across Disciplines, the 13th World Conference of the International Institute for Restorative Practices, (IIRP) will highlight the work in the city of Hull, UK, to become a "restorative city." The conference will feature speakers from across disciplines -- education, social work, criminal justice, etc -- sharing their experiences of using restorative practices.
- Training Webinars from American Humane
- In 2007, American Humane developed its first webinar series in recognition of the difficulties many practitioners and leaders have in attending skills based training events. The webinars cover various issue related to Family Group Decision Making and Restorative Conferencing for Youth Justice.
- Young people, risk and resilience: The challenges of alcohol, drugs and violence conference.
- In March 2011, the Australian Institute of Criminology and the Victorian Safe Communities Network will host a two day conference exploring questions related to young people's use of drugs, alcohol and violence.
- Institutionalizing restorative practices: Building alliances among practitioners, policy-makers and scholars
- The 14th World Conference of the International Institute of Restorative Practices will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in June 2011. Titled "Institutionalizing restorative practices: Building alliances among practitioners, policy-makers and scholars," the conference will feature speakers such as John Braithwaite, Donald Clairmont, and Jennifer Llewellyn.
- Certificate in Restorative Practice
- Perth College in the UK will offer a Certificate in Restorative Practices as an online learning programme
- Canadian School of Peacebuilding
- The second annual Canadian School of Peacebuilding will be held from 14 June to 2 July, 2010, at the Canadian Mennonite University. Offering three five day sessions with two or three concurrent courses, theCanadian Peacbuilding Schools seeks to create a collaborative learning community for practitioners, professionals and members of faith-communities to " nurture and equip them for various forms of peace practice and exposing them to some of the most significant, emerging ideas and teachers in the field." It offers both academic credit and professional training credits.
- Restorative Circle: Building Compassionate Conflict Resolution Systems
- The Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution in partnership with NVC-Ottawa-Outauais will offer a four day training on the concept of restorative circles. Participants will explore the key assumptions of this model developed by Dominic Barter in Brazil.
- Summer Training Institute: Exploring the Restorative Practices Continuum.
- In July, the International Institute for Restorative Practices will offer a week long training institute exploring restorative justice theory, practices, and implementation in various settings.
- Restorative Circle II: Building Compassionate Conflict Resolution Systems.
- This two day training -- offered by the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution in partnership with the NVC-Outaouais -- will allow participants further their understanding or the principles of the restorative circle model. This is a follow-up event to an introductory training offered in early June.
- Doing Restorative Justice in Europe: Established Practices and Innovative Programmes
- The sixth biennial conference of the European Forum of Restorative Justice marks the organisation's tenth anniversary. To mark the event, the conference -- Doing Restorative Justice in Europe: Established Practices and Innovative Programmes -- will explore the development of restorative justice in the region and look ahead to new possibilities.
- Is violence ever justified?
- The inaugural annual lecture hosted by the Forgiveness Project will feature Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The event will include a panel discussion featuring speakers who have been involved in and suffered from violence.
- 2010 National Restorative Justice Symposium
- The Regina John Howard Society, in cooperation with several organisations, will host the 2010 National Restorative Justice Symposium in Regina,Saskatchewan. The 2010 theme is "Reflexions: Past, Present and Future."
